On 18 October 2011, the first national call to apply to Creative Partnerships Lithuania was announced to all schools of Lithuania.
During the time of collecting schools applications, from 21 October to 4 November, information seminars to the teachers were held in nine cities of Lithuania. The seminars where aimed not only to inform about the possibilities and conditions of participating in the Creative Partnerships but rather to discuss and explore what is creativity in school, why it is necessary, how creative learning can be organised and what it actually means.
The schools willing to change, ready to pose questions openly, eager to search for new educational possibilities, open to cooperate and experiment were invited to join the Creative Partnerships programme.
On 8 December 2011, 43 schools of general education of Lithuania were selected for the first Programme year. All together there were 135 schools from the entire Lithuania applying to participate in the Programme for 2011- 2012 school year.
During the 3 school years 2011 – 2014 a total of 120 educational institutions will be taking part in the Creative Partnerships programme, which is an average of one out of ten schools of Lithuania.
In Lithuania, the Creative Partnerships project is implemented on a national scale as an initiative of the Ministry of Education and Science of Lithuania. The programme is implemented by the Educational Development Centre.
